OTHER / MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS
Q: My fiancee and i have been having sex for quite some time, and this very particular occasion while we were having foreplay she complained of her vagina was feeling hot as she was being aroused. However after having sex which was satisfying to both of us,i noticed a Whiteish substance with the appearance of a piece of chicken fat or something like undegistive food that comes up through your mouth and it also smells the same meaning the smell was not so pleasant. This is the very first time she has ever experienced this. Can you tell us what can that probly be,or if it is something normal? A: I would indeed suggest that you and your fiancee visit your physician or public health clinic to both be tested for an STD or yeast infection. What you describe is not normal, but it is good you noticed and are concerned. Please make sure both of you are treated before having sex again. Also please be sure to follow the instructions your clinician gives you. If you do not have a clinician, please consult your governmental White Pages for the nearest public health family planning clinic in your area.
Q: i have 2 questions.....Is kissing cosidered to be oral sex? Can sperm travel through underwear? A: Your first question: Is kissing considered to be oral sex? Oral sex is defined as having the mouth, tongue, etc. make direct contact with another person's genitals and genital area. But mouth to mouth kissing is not considered to be oral sex. Second question: Can sperm travel through underwear? Some undergarments are made of very thin material or do not cover much of the area of the body, so sperm can pass through the garment. Pregnancy can occur if the sperm is deposited close to the vaginal opening and can penetrate the material that makes up the underwear. Please contact your physician, or Riverside County Family Planning Clinic in Palm Springs, 3111 E. Tahquitz-Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262, Phone # (760) 778-2210. Q:
If you have had a pelvic exam, and none of the doctors can find anything
wrong with you, yet you have itching, and discharge. Any suggestions
to what it could be? Though after further research I believe that
it is a yeast infection. If this is true, will this delay a menstual A: Your conclusion of a yeast infection is probably correct. Without knowing all the details of your exam, I can only guess that the doctor or clinician did not observe the conditions you describe, or they would have given you medication for that problem. Please check back with them and tell them what you told me. They will be able to counsel you on what the best method of treatment is right for you. So many factors (including stress) can affect your menstrual cycle that I cannot tell you if this will alter it. Again, please consult with your medical provider for further information.
Q: WHEN MY MONTHLY PERIOD COMES TWICE IN ONE MONTH WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? IS IT NORMAL? OR IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME? DO I NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR? A: Many things influence a woman's menstrual cycle: Stress, general health, birth control methods utilized, amount of physical exercise, age, and medication usage are among some of the things that make the cycle fluctuate. My suggestion is to contact your regular physician or nearest family planning clinic. If you do not have a regular provider, please check the governmental White Pages for the Family Planning clinic nearest you. Make an appointment for a reproductive health check-up and jot down all of your questions and concerns. In many cases, it is not unusual for a woman to ovulate twice during a month, thus prompting two menstrual periods. Discuss this with the nurse or doctor at the time of your exam.
Q: i want to know if you can test to prove who the father of a child is? i think its called a paturnity test but i dont think i spelled it right. i want to know how much it would cost to get it dont also. please write me asap. A: We do not do the paternity test here at the Health Department. You can contact a priviate lab and have a test done.
Q: My friend is pregnant and would like to know how long she has to decide if she wants to have an abortion. A: Your friend should make an appointment with her doctor or local Family Planning office (see the governmental White Pages for the listing) as soon as possible. The clinicians and counselors there will help her make a decision for this pregnancy. They will also give her good advice about future birth control decisions.
Q: can a person with polycyctic ovary sydrome have a iud? A:
An IUD will not meet the need for the hormone medication that is usually
given for polycystic ovary. Some physicians are treating the polycystic
ovary problem with birth control pills, the patch or the ring in addition
to other medications. I cannot answer your question completely without
knowing many other factors. The best thing to do is to make an appointment
with your doctor or nearest Public Health Family Planning clinic (can
be found in the Governmental White
Q: Do I have to have parents permission to get birth control or come in to the clinic? A: No, under California State law a minor (12 and over) can obtain Family Planning services without parental consent.
Q: Can a yeast infection make the pill less effective? and Must the pill be taken every day at the same exact time? A: You question is a two-parter, so I'll answer each part separately. 1. A yeast infection will not change the effectiveness of the "pill." However, if a woman has a bacterial infection and is given an antibiotic, that drug could change the effectiveness of the "pill" or other hormonal birth control method. She should use a condom (or abstinence) as a back-up plan to her hormonal method while using antibiotics. 2. For the best results, the "pill" should be taken at the same time every day to systematically control her hormone level in her body properly. It also helps her to remember to take it if she is on a regular routine.
